Encore Concert

Are you an amateur musician with a passion for the orchestra? Have you always wanted to play a concert on the Macky stage? Now is your opportunity to dust off your instrument and play alongside Boulder Phil professional musicians as we bring the whole community together for a full day of rehearsals, informative break-out sessions, and a final concert under the baton of Music Director Michael Butterman!

The inaugural Encore Concert on Sunday, September 30 is designed to be a memorable and immersive experience for adult amateur musicians. Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to work with Boulder Phil musicians, hear from music experts, enjoy a catered lunch with Michael Butterman and fellow participants, and share a final performance at Macky with your friends and family. Though designed for adults, advanced high school students under 18 are also welcome to apply with teacher recommendation.

Repertoire for the Encore Concert features works by composers that will be heard on the 2018-2019 Boulder Phil regular season:

John Williams  “Raider’s March” from Raiders of the Lost Ark
Jean Sibelius  Finlandia
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky  Symphony No. 5, movement IV
