Michael Butterman gives a video introduction to this compelling program:

Two-time Grammy Award winning clarinetist Richard Stoltzman performs Aaron Copland’s popular, jazzy concerto, surrounded by toe-tapping music by Leonard Bernstein and Boulder's own Bill Douglas, composer/pianist. Douglas and Stoltzman are long-time collaborators - Douglas wrote Feast for Stoltzman and will perform with the orchestra for that work. This evening of music from America closes with Dvořák’s stunning New World Symphony.

With support from SCFD, this program will repeat Sunday afternoon at St. Luke's Methodist Church, located in south suburban Denver. It is a benefit concert with proceeds supporting mission projects in Guatemala. Our thanks to Richard Stoltzman and to Dr. James Ramsey for making this performance possible.

“Stoltzman is the preeminent soloist on the clarinet today. He is a musician of flawless taste, one with few rivals anywhere on any instrument.”
