Aimée McAnulty
Viola
Performing with the Boulder Phil since 2021
Argentine - American violist, Aimée McAnulty holds degrees from University of Michigan and CU Boulder. She has performed all over the world as a soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician. As a former member of the acclaimed Ivalas Quartet, Aimée attended Juilliard and has studied with members of the Juilliard, Tákacs, Brentano, Pacifica, and Emerson Quartets. While she was a member, Ivalas won the 2022 Coltman Competition, recorded several projects, and completed various residencies throughout the US. She grew in Pasadena, California, and with the Pasadena Conservatory and Colburn in her neighborhood was able to attend for lessons early on. From the start she has always had a natural ability to feel music and has always wished for her life to revolve around her music making. As a motivated and outspoken member of the viola community she is planning to premiere several solo works in the coming years for her beloved instrument. She plans to do several concerts in the US and in Argentina (Salta, Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Rosario) with the new commissions. Currently you can hear Aimée play here in Colorado with the Boulder Phil, Colorado Springs Phil, Sphere Ensemble, Boulder Chamber Orchestra and for solo recitals that can be found on her website: aimeemcanulty.com. Having just adopted her very own dog, Moxi, Aimée is currently enjoying how doggie friendly Boulder is. Aimée does secretly wish very much that Moxi could be invited to sit in on a rehearsal with the Boulder Phil just so she could enjoy the great music too!
