Celebrating 70 years of orchestral excellence.
Founded in 1957, the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra has brought people together through the power of live music. Under the leadership of Music Director Michael Butterman, the Boulder Phil serves audiences across Boulder and Colorado’s Front Range through inspiring performances, education programs, and community partnerships that connect people, ideas, and experiences.
Rooted and shaped by the creativity of the community it serves, the Boulder Phil presents performances in beloved venues throughout the region—from historic concert halls to intimate gathering spaces—creating meaningful musical experiences that are welcoming, accessible, and deeply human.
The Boulder Philharmonic believes music is more than something we hear. It is something we share.
Excellence in performance and service.
Recognized as “Boulder’s premier orchestra” by Boulder Weekly and “Boulder’s superb local professional orchestra” by the Daily Camera, the Boulder Philharmonic reaches more than 30,000 people annually through performances, education initiatives, and community engagement programs. The orchestra is comprised of many of the finest professional musicians from across Colorado’s Front Range.
We aspire to diversity, education, and inclusion.
The Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra values sharing the life-enriching potential of orchestral music with all members of the community that we serve. We want everyone regardless of age, gender identity, race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, physical capacity, income level or educational attainment to have access to the music we make and to feel welcomed by us.
