An accomplished violinist and dedicated educator from Washington, Ryan Jacobsen is known for his expressive artistry and collaborative spirit, performing widely as an orchestral and chamber musician throughout Colorado’s Front Range. Recently appointed Concertmaster of the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, he has also performed with leading regional ensembles, including the Colorado Ballet Orchestra, Opera Colorado, Central City Opera, and the Colorado Music Festival, and served a one-year contract with the Colorado Symphony. He has been featured in the University of Colorado Boulder’s acclaimed Faculty Tuesday series.

Internationally, Ryan has performed as part of the graduate string quartet in residence at the Siena International Music Festival in Italy, and he continues to champion chamber music as both a performer and mentor to young musicians. As part of his work with the Boulder Philharmonic, he performs numerous recitals and educational quartet concerts each year, reflecting his commitment to fostering a love of music and building meaningful connections with the Boulder community. In addition to his work on stage, he maintains a thriving violin and viola studio, guiding students of all ages and abilities.

Ryan holds both a Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degree from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he studied with Charles Wetherbee, former Concertmaster of the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra. Away from the violin, he enjoys backpacking through the mountains and canyons of Colorado and Utah with his wife and their dog, Leo.
