A native of Detroit, Michigan, Stephanie Bork started to study violin at a young age after seeing a guest violinist on Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood and has been playing ever since. She received her Bachelor of Music in violin from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music from The University of Michigan. Her primary instructors have included Hai-Xin Wu, Piotr Milewski, and Aaron Berofsky. Throughout her career, Ms. Bork has played with a number of symphony orchestras and opera companies, including the Houston Symphony, the Houston Grand Opera, the Houston Ballet, and the Toledo Symphony. Along with the Boulder Philharmonic, Stephanie is a core member of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. She is also a substitute violinist for the Colorado Symphony and maintains an active private studio in the Denver area. When she is not playing violin, Ms. Bork enjoys knitting and crocheting, and finding new mountains and trails to explore. Her favorite thing about playing with Boulder Phil is the awesome people she has met and gets to work with in the orchestra.
