Dr. Yenlik Weiss has performed in the US, Europe, and Asia. Yenlik is the Assistant Concertmaster of the Colorado MahlerFest, a tenured member of the Boulder Philharmonic and Redlands Symphony, a mentor at the Greater Boulder Youth Symphony, and conductor at the West Metro Orchestra at Golden Music. Yenlik served as Assistant Concertmaster of the Boulder Chamber Orchestra for two seasons and also performed with Colorado Music Festival, Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Opera Colorado, Pasadena Symphony Orchestra, Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra, Santa Barbara Opera, Long Beach Symphony Orchestra, Riverside Symphony Orchestra, San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra, and Fresno Philharmonic. Memorable professional highlights include performing under John Williams at the Ambassador Auditorium for his 80th birthday, performing with Elton John for Yamaha’s 100th celebration, performing at the Disney Hall in Los Angeles, at the Kennedy Center with the Boulder Phil during the SHIFT festival, and with the Boulder Philharmonic quartet at Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC. In her hometown, Almaty, Kazakhstan Yenlik graduated with honors from the National Conservatory. She performed in multiple Central Asian countries and in Germany (Bayreuth, Nuremberg, Bonn, and Munich). She studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music and graduated with a Master of Music from the Cleveland State University and Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she studied with Oswald Lehnert and the members of the Takács Quartet. Yenlik loves being part of the Boulder Philharmonic because of its artistry, collaborations, and educational programs, and appreciates the opportunities to perform with her friends and colleagues.
